  2. ANNOUNCEMENT --- ASCREEN 3.2
  3. ============================

  5. I'm pleased to announce that the newest version of ASCREEN, the DVI
  6. previewer for Atari computers, is now available for anonymous FTP.
  7. Enhancements in this version include
  8.  
  9. - Fixes for various bugs in font handling, screen management and GEM
  10.   support. In particular, the bothersome bug concerning slashes in IMG
  11.   file names and the other bothersome bug concerning auto-repeat scroll
  12.   arrows have been removed.
  13. - Facing pages can be shrunk and displayed together. A unique
  14.   `recto-verso mode' lets you page forward and back by two pages like in a
  15.   book.
  16. - Extended keyboard commands for shrinking pages, setting the shrink factor,
  17.   and closing windows without having to use the mouse.
  18. - Extended dialog boxes; many settings that required editing the setup file
  19.   can now be performed from within the program.
  20. - Better handling of various error conditions.
  21. - Support for CSG level 2 graphics and tpic \specials (mostly).
  22. - German manual included (sorry folks, German only)
  23. - Besides an example (in C) for `remote control' of ASCREEN, the
  24.   distribution contains `FontList', a program which lists the fonts
  25.   used in a document. The source code for this program is included, too.

  27. You may get and use ASCREEN for free. You may also redistribute the
  28. program, as long as you don't make any money off it or pretend that you
  29. wrote it.

  36.     ascr32tx.zoo    - TeX source code for the manual

  38. (The manual is quite big, and I have separated it from the main
  39. distribution so people who don't read German don't have to fetch it
  40. anyhow. There is a short English introduction in ENGINTRO.TXT.) Some
  41. other goodies, e. g., ready-made FLIB files with the most important
  42. LaTeX fonts and AMSFonts, may be retrieved from there as well.

  45. software only at off-peak times, that is, 1800-0800 hours CET
  46. (UT+0100), or during the weekend.*
